06/12/2026 It's currently 10:17 AM In Ahmedabad; for my friends in Pittsburgh, it's around 12:48 AM, and for my roommate in San Francisco, it's around 9:48. It's odd talking to people in other time zones; while you're eating breakfast, they're eating dinner; when you say goodnight, the sun’s in the middle of the sky for them; when you’re up at 1 am, they might have just woken up. On another note, this trip to India has been so much fun! On our first day here, we went to see my paternal grandpa(Dada). The thing is, we planned our trip 10 days before we got on our set of flights, so no one in our family knew we were coming. When we reached my aunt’s(bouha) apartment, we quietly snuck in and surprised my Grandpa. The smile on his face when he saw us was priceless. My only complaint about India is that the summer weather has been absolutely atrocious. With consistently high temperatures of 105°F, it's hot enough to cook an egg by just standing outside. Luckily, we’ve been able to have the comfort of air conditioning wherever we’ve stayed; but as soon as you walk outside a room with aircon, you start sweating.

06/22/2026 Day 3 of CMU Pre-College 10:50PM The last 3 days have been amazing, I’ve had so much fun, made so many friends, and been so productive. I’m excited to see where things go, my classes are going to be very hard but I will stay on top of things (hopefully). Alongside all of these things college apps are looming right around the corner so I really have to get on top of that soon. Since I don’t have much else to write, here’s what my RAs and friends had to say: Last three days have been great just getting to know my roommate and floormates. The RAs are super chill and I’ve bonded with many of them. First day we were actually late to everything. We woke up at 7ish but still ended up being late to class and the field trip we were trying to get to but overall the experience has been great and I’m excited to meet new people and learn new things. - Newman Dorms: 9/10 (missing one point since bc its singles i cant spend more time w my really cool roommates 🥺) Food: 7/10 havent tried all the restaurants yet. Dining hall is mid but the restaurants ive been to have been pretty good. Classes: 8/10 the profs are super nice and generally organized. But its only been like two days so idk yet. Maybe it’ll get worse. - Zack Hello, this is Austin, make sure you don’t do drugs. We are making sure to be super nice and super welcoming to all of our residents. I don’t know what the f*** Tian has done for Param but I have made sure he has felt safe and welcome and supported. - Austin Yo! This is Austin’s dad. Unfortunately im really sorry about my disobedient son and he lowk kinda chopped. He didn’t even get me a gift for father’s day… Anyways, i don’t recognize him as my son. Embarrassment of the family, sigh. - Tian
